About Us
Captain Phil is a third-generation fisherman growing up fishing on the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario with his father and grandfather, with 25 years experience and knowledge on the St Lawrence.
Captain Phil not only loves to fish but loves to cook over the wood fire at the Clayton guides dinner grounds on Grindstone Island. Starting with the traditional fat back and onion sandwich appetizer that dates back to the gilded age. Next will be a fresh tossed salad, salt potatoes, corn and fried fish with lemon and butter. Dessert will be the Clayton guides version of French toast with coffee from the percolator. The locals grew up on shore dinners and crave them year after year.
