Captain Phil is a third-generation fisherman growing up fishing on the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario with his father and grandfather he got his own boat when he was 14 giving him 25 years experience and knowledge on this ever-changing fish patterns.

 

Captain Phil not only loves to fish but loves to cook over the wood fire at the Clayton guides dinner grounds on Grindstone Island. Starting with the traditional fat back and onion sandwich appetizer that dates back to the gilded age. Next will be a fresh tossed salad, salt potatoes, corn and fried fish with lemon and butter. Dessert will be the Clayton guides version of French toast with coffee from the percolator. The locals grew up on shore dinners and crave them year after year. Once you've experienced them you'll be coming back for more!

 

Boats and equipment

Fish aboard Phil’s 27-foot custom sport fishermen Miss Jeannette. With it's heated hardtop, comfortable cabin, enclosed head and the deepest gunnels on the river you will be comfortable in any type of weather. Customers often comment on the quality of the equipment as well as the organization of the boat. 

 

Home Port

Phil values his customer's comfort and convenience this is why he chose home to be the beautiful and modern Islander Marina and Lodge with it's covered slips and level docks, drive up parking and always clean facilities you couldn't ask for a nicer spot to unwind while Phil cleans the day's catch. Riverview rooms are also available.
